If you’re looking to play poker online, you have many options. Bovada Poker, Global Poker, South Point and the World Series of Poker are all great places to play. However, if you want to play poker online legally, you must look for a state that has legalized online poker. There are six states that have legalized online poker, but more will likely follow. New Jersey and Pennsylvania have both seen significant revenue gains from online poker. As these states realize the benefits of online poker, more will join them via a multi-state network.

Bovada Poker

If you are a newbie to online poker, Bovada may be a good place to start. The game software has changed significantly from the early 2000s. The old program looked dated and wasn’t as smooth, but as soon as Bovada stepped in, the software was more user friendly and looked slick. This is the main draw of Bovada, so that it has become one of the best poker sites for newbies and experienced players alike.

Global Poker

As of this writing, Global Poker offers a few different games and stakes levels. For starters, the site offers no limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, and Omaha 8 games. It does not currently offer draw or stud games. Global Poker has an impressive stakes range – stakes start at SC 0.02/0.04 and go up to SC 10/20. As far as games go, hold’em is the most popular, though PLO also receives fair amounts of traffic.

South Point

A new real money Nevada online poker room is coming soon to South Point Hotel. This new online poker room, called Real Gaming, will be operated by the South Point Hotel. Real Gaming is browser-based, which means that you don’t have to download any software to play. Instead, you’ll have to use your smartphone to verify your account. Despite its new location, South Point online poker offers an excellent experience and plenty of action throughout the day.

The WSOP online poker website is a licensed and regulated operator, run by a team of highly experienced professionals. While not perfect, WSOP is safe, fair, and regarded as a great place to play online poker. You can choose from a variety of games at WSOP, including cash games, tournaments, and more. Players can access the site via mobile or desktop, but the software looks dated and drab.

In 2003, Chris Moneymaker won the WSOP Main Event, ballooning the field to 8,773 participants. The following year, Jamie Gold took home the biggest prize ever awarded by the WSOP, $12 million. In 2006, the top nine players received million-dollar payouts. In 2008, the WSOP introduced the November Nine, where the Main Event is played down to the final table of nine in July, and resumes in November.

The YouStake online poker site is a rebirth of the popular online poker community. Although the company has been offline since the SEC began investigating its business practices, the online poker community still needs YouStake to thrive. While the SEC did not file a formal case against the company, the firm did not clarify any of its concerns. In an effort to end the expensive legal battle, the YouStake team dismissed the investigation. The company’s attorneys believe that the case is closed, and the company has opened its virtual doors to poker players, gamers, and backers again.
